I've been in a very Christmas mood recently and Belgium was the perfect place to go to find Christmas markets and lights to put me more into the holiday spirit. My first, and only whole, day in Belgium was spent doing those activities. I visited the Grand Place Market Square to view the huge Christmas tree and beautiful buildings lined with golden trim. I ran into more Christmas markets than I could have asked for! There seemed to be a handful just around every corner selling gifts, souvenirs, food, drinks, and more! I was able to squeeze in some last minute Christmas shopping until I got some hot chocolate and bratwurst for lunch. I know... a strange combination, but it was delicious. After a long day of strolling though th streets of Brussels, I had plans to go see Hozier in concert this evening. All I have to say is that it was an amazing experience and being in Belgium just added upon that amazing experience.

The final day in Belgium was spent with delicious, and a classic, Belgian waffle which I devoured. I understand all of the commotion now becuase it was delicious. Afterwards, I went to the Magritte Museum that was connected with the Museum of Old Master Paintings that stretched on infinitely! I absolutely love museums, and it makes it even more special being able to view original art pieces in specific countries. My favorite piece that caught my attention was Magrittes's painting entitled 'The Kiss'.

I had an absolutely amazing time in Belgium despite my trip hardly being two days. However, that's one of the perks of living abroad is that I can easily visit once again in the further to see more of the beautiful country that is Belgium!
