A Day in Florence, Italy

May 3, 2025

My long awaited trip to Florence, Italy came and went in the blink of an eye. However, despite my quick stop in, Florence seemed to be the perfect place to spend one whole day because it feels like everywhere I turned there was something to see or do.

The piazzas in Florence were bustling with early tourists, street vendors, and towering statues that never failed to catch my eye.

I began my morning with breakfast at Cinema Giunti Odeon which was an incredible environment. With students studying and a movie playing faintly in the background, this cinema/ bookstore created an incredible atmosphere for a perfect study space or even just a place to relax and enjoy breakfast as I did.

Given I was only in Florence for one day, but I was still able to visit plenty of the sights including the Duomo, the Statue of David replica, and Ponte Vecchio which, of all the things, was my favorite stop because the bridge was the perfect spot to sun bathe and chat while watching all the people pass by.

My time in Florence was quick, and I definitely expect to find myself going there at some other point down the line, but the short time I got to spend there I found myself enjoying every second of the slow day full of wandering around aimlessly, getting lost, and then somehow find myself in front of a beautiful scene.
